More about Cotswold Peru Beans
Perfectly balanced in body with winey berry notes and a crisp, clean finish.
This unique Peruvian coffee is grown in the lush provinces of Jaen and San Ignacio in Northern Peru. This offers the perfect environment for growing coffee. The rich soils, temperature climate and high growing altitudes slow the maturation of the coffee, allowing the beans to accumulate maximum flavour.
Sourced from the Cenfrocafe cooperative In Peru, Cenfrocafe is located in the highland valleys between the Andes and the Amazon Rainforest in Northern Peru and is a second-level producer organisation with 86 cooperative members, representing 2,000 smallholder coffee farms.
Cenfrocafe cups every delivery in a cupping lab and holds a cupping competition for members with prizes to incentivise quality improvements. As a tradition in the region, the majority of Cenfrocafe's coffee is pulped and washed on-farm by the producers. In addition to Cenfrocafe's Field Officers, 50 farm leaders (promotors) visit all the farms to help spread good agricultural practices and meet certification requirements.
